A notorious hardcore criminal has been detained under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) in RS Pura Sub division of Jammu District today on 05.05.2024
The notorious hardcore criminal identified as Raman Kumar S/o Bodh Raj R/o Kathar, Tehsil Arnia, District Jammu has been booked under the Public Safety Act for his continuous involvement in criminal activities in an organized manner, thus posing a threat to public peace and order.
The accused did not mend his behavior in refraining his involvement in criminal activities despite being booked several times in multiple FIRs against him by various Police stations of the Jammu & Samba, districts.
The hardcore criminal was arrested by police in several cases, but the substantive law was not enough to tame him, and he continued with his criminal activities, thereby posing a great threat to the public at large.
He was involved in such activities which were likely to disturb public order & tranquility, particularly in Police Sub Division R.S.Pura and Jammu District in general.
As per Police records, Eleven FIRs were registered against the above-mentioned hardcore notorious criminal within Jammu & in neighboring Districts.
Keeping in view the activities of aforesaid accused as these amount to propagating criminal activities, the accused was ordered to be detained under section-8 of the Public Safety Act (PSA) by the orders of the District Magistrate Jammu.
Action against notorious hardcore criminals is among the top priorities of Jammu & Kashmir Police which aim not only to take stringent action as per the law of the land against notorious criminals but also preventive steps towards the maintenance of peace and order.
The arrest was made by a team of Police Station Arnia headed by SHO P/S Arnia under the close supervision of SDPO R.S.Pura, SP Hqrs Jammu & overall supervision of SSP Jammu.
The locals of the area have highly appreciated the efforts of the J&K Police in taking a tough stand and curbing criminal activities in the area.
