Kathua, May 07: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Dr Rakesh Minhas today chaired a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Kathua and discussed various matters related to public transport in the district, besides sanctioning routes permits.
RTO Jammu Kewal Krishan (Member Secretary) and other concerned officers and officials were present in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner, who is the chairman of RTA, along with other members scrutinized the applications received for approval of different road permits. After due deliberations with all stakeholders thirteen applications of Taxi Cabs under All J&K contract carriage, twenty-seven applications of four-wheeler autos, three fresh applications of Mini Bus, and three applications of permit renewal were approved. The committee also deferred two applications for two minibus route permits until the next meeting of RTA.
The DC also directed the Traffic Department to maintain proper traffic regulations besides taking action against violators.
