Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta convened meeting for promotion of Farmers Produce Organizations (FPOs) in the District Kathua at Conference Hall, Office Complex of Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua. About 20 attendees were present as stakeholders, members and CBBOs during the meet.
Sh. Sanjeev Rai Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer Kathua impressed upon 03 months saturation drive for FPOs formed and promoted under various schemes in the District. He apprised all the members about the importance of Farmers Produce Organizations and their role in Rural as well as Urban areas of the district.
He also said, Agriculture Department is providing essential inputs viz.Seed, Fertilizers and Pesticide Licenses to the farmers and aspiring FPOs. Simultaneously, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Kathuais helping in training and technical guidance to member farmers of FPOs to make them more vibrant, ensuring their financial stability &sustainability.
Membersand heads of Atma Nirbhar Nari, Shiwalik Hill, Kohinoor vegetables, Basantpur Keerian, Kathua Mushroom Farmers FPOs discussed various issues pertaining to registrations and introduction of new members, raising member count, technical guidance and financial aspects of their respective FPOs also.
Sh. Vishal Mahajan Head KVK Kathua and Sh. Amit Kumar District Manager, NABARD also deliberated on the occasion and stressed upon all members to follow technical norms and guidelines. Sh. Kuldeep Raj, Subject Matter Specialist (District Level) Nodal Officer for FPOs of Kathua District also attended the meeting.
