DC Kathua chairs DLC meeting on HADP, approves 1590 cases

Beneficiaries to get proper handholding to avail the benefit of the schemes under different projects of Agriculture and allied sectors

Kathua, May 8: In a proactive step towards advancing agricultural development, Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr. Rakesh Minhas, chaired a District Level Committee meeting on the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP) at the Conference Hall of the DC office complex today.

During the meeting, Dr. Minhas reviewed the progress made in implementing various components of HADP projects across the district by the Agriculture and allied departments.

The committee also held detailed deliberations to select beneficiaries for different components of stakeholder departments under HADP. A total of 1590 applications were approved, encompassing 126 applications for Sheep Husbandry schemes, 19 for Horticulture, 44 for Animal Husbandry schemes, 18 for Sericulture schemes, and 1383 for Agricultural schemes.

Dr. Minhas emphasized the importance of clearing any pending tasks to meet the targets set under HADP within the specified timelines. He assured farmers of the district administration’s unwavering support for their success.

Highlighting the significance of the HADP initiative, Dr. Minhas stated that it plays a crucial role in fostering a sustainable and profitable agricultural ecosystem. The program aims to equip farmers with the necessary knowledge and tools to enhance productivity and profitability while contributing to the overall growth of the agriculture sector.

Dr. Minhas urged stakeholder departments to work closely together for the successful implementation of various initiatives at the district level. He also emphasized the importance of reaching out to farmers in remote areas, providing them with information on the latest agricultural technologies, and ensuring the effective execution of different schemes at the grassroots level.

The meeting was attended by various officials including CPO, ACD, CAO, CHO, CSHO, CAHO, DDM NABARD, AD Fisheries, Dy Registrar Cooperatives, and other concerned officers.
