A job fair was organized by the Directorate of Employment J&K through District Employment and Counselling Centre Kathua in which more than 200 candidates participated and registered themselves as jobseekers for jobs in private sector. 05 No. of companies from private sector participated in the job fair. A total of 88 candidates were shortlisted and 75 No. of candidates were selected on spot.
Companies like Paytm, Agile Herbal, Innova Captab, Pukhraj Herbals and RAXA Security Pvt. Ltd. offered jobs like Sales Executive Officer, Wellness Advisor, Wellness Advisor Manager, Security Guard, Fitter etc. The youth were also provided information of the government sponsored self-employment schemes like Mumkin, Tejaswini and SEI Scheme and motivated to become self employed and jobs creator themselves.
Moreover, the event is aimed to bridge the gap between job seekers and leading companies/organizations, fostering a platform for employment opportunities in the region. Assistant Director Employment Smt. Roopali Gandotra also informed the unemployed youths of the district that Department of Employment also going to start training related to various skill courses as per demand in the market.
