INTERACTIVE SESSION ON DRUG ABUSE & CYBER CRIME AWARENESS CONDUCTED BY J&K POLICE AT GOVT. HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL FORELAIN KATHUA.

Kathua; 16 May:- In order to counter the increasing menace of Drugs as well as Cyber Crime, Jammu & Kashmir Police while ongoing its effort to raise awareness among students about the ill-effects of “Drug Abuse and Cybercrime” , today a highly informative and engaging interactive session was held at the Govt. Higher Secondary School Forelain Kathua. The session was chaired by Addl. SP Kathua Sh. Paramjeet Singh JKPS accompanied by Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Forelain Kathua Sh. Mangat Ram alongwith staff members/students of school who also actively participated in the interactive session.There was gathering of more than hundred people which included students,staff members and police officials etc.
During the session Addl. SP Kathua Sh. Paramjeet Singh-JKPS gave an elaborate view about the menace of drugs, its sources, causes, consequences and role of every member of society.While speaking at the event, the chairing officer said that issue of drugs abuse is a challenge before the country and advised the teachers/ guardians to pay keen attention towards the behaviour of their children & not to put any psychological pressure upon them which could attract them towards drug menace. This interactive session being made by District Police Kathua is to spread awareness about drug abuse & addiction.
Furthermore, the participants gained insights into the “Realm of cybercrime”
understanding the risks associated with online activities, social media usage, and sharing personal information.The session aimed to empower students with knowledge and insights to make informed decisions and protect themselves in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. The chairing officers shared their valuable expertise as well as experiences and also highlighted the importance of practising safe online behavior and maintaining privacy in the digital era.Principal of the Govt. Higher Secondary School Forelain expressed his gratitude to the District Police Kathua for their informative and thought-provoking presentation.The session concluded with a strong message urging students to become responsible digital citizens and make informed choices about their health and online presence.
J&k Police intend to continue conducting such sessions in the future to address other critical issues facing the youth.
