Continuing its efforts against the drug menace under “Operation Sanjeevani”, J&K Police recovered/seized approx. 3.10 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics in the jurisdictional area of PP Marheen at Khanpur area 01 lady drug peddler arrested along with Seized 01 Mobile Phone and Cash amount of Rs. 15,670/-.
On 06-05-2024 information was received through reliable sources at PP Marheen that one lady namely Asha Bibi W/o Mohd. Sadiq R/o Khanpur Tehsil Marheen District Kathua was doing an illegal trade of selling Narcotics like Contraband and kept a huge quantity of narcotics substance in her possession and trying to sell the same to the people of Khanpur area as well as its adjoining area of PP Marheen.
Acting swiftly, a Police team led by I/C PP Marheen under the supervision of SDPO Border & SHO PS Rajbagh laid down a special naka/ checking at Khanpur area and apprehended said accused lady namely Asha Bibi W/o Mohd. Sadiq R/o Khanpur Tehsil Marheen District Kathua.
During checking approx. 3.10 grams of Heroin(Chitta) narcotics, a Cash amount of Rs. 15670/-, and 01 Mobile Phone were recovered from her illegal possession.
Thereafter all the recovered narcotics along with Cash Amount Rs. 15670/- and 01 Mobile Phone were seized and one lady drug peddler was arrested on the spot. In this regard a case vide FIR No. 104/2024 U/S 8/21/22/NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajbagh while further investigation is underway.
