JKEDI Kathua orgainses Sensitization Workshop on Startup Ecosystem for Government officials

Kathua, August 10: In an effort to foster a vibrant startup ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir, the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), District Office Kathua, conducted a sensitization workshop for state government officials today here at the District Employment & Counseling Centre (DECC), Kathua.

The object of the workshop was aimed to enhance the understanding, skills, and capabilities of government officials regarding the startup ecosystem in India vis a vis in Jammu & Kashmir, with a focus on disseminating information about the JK Startup Policy 2024-27.

During the proceedings of the program, in depth analysis of the Startup Policy was done to sensitize state government officials about the dynamics of the startup ecosystem and encourage active involvement from various state departments. The interactive session is seen as a tool in facilitating meaningful interactions between state departments and startups, fostering an environment of innovation and idea exchange that will contribute to the growth of the startup landscape in the region.

Officials from various departments, including the Divisional Forest Office, Block Development Office, Handicrafts & Handloom Department, DECC, Khadi & Village Industries Board, Rural Self Employment Training Institute, Rural Livelihood Mission, Nehru Yuva Kendra and registered and potential startups from the Kathua district were present at the workshop.

The program commenced with a detailed presentation by Nodal Officer, JKEDI, Kathua Dheeraj Handu, who provided an overview of the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute, highlighting its background, achievements, milestones, and future endeavors.

Following the introduction, a comprehensive session was conducted on the Vision of the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27. The session covered the benefits and eligibility criteria for registering and recognizing startups, as well as the current position of Jammu & Kashmir in the national startup landscape. Participants were shown examples of successful startups in India, inspiring them with stories of innovation and perseverance that have driven these startups to national prominence.

The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing participants and startups to engage in meaningful discussions. The program was deemed a success, with expectations that it will have a significant impact on establishing a robust startup ecosystem in Jammu & Kashmir.
