UNDER THE OPERATION PAATHSHALA: INTERACTIVE SESSION ON DRUG ABUSE, CYBER CRIME & TRAFFIC RULES AWARENESS CONDUCTED BY J&K POLICE AT GOVT. HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL JAKHBAR

Kathua; 31 May; In order to counter the increasing menace of Drugs as well as Cyber Crime, under the “Operation Paathshala” J&K Police while continuing its effort to raise awareness among students about the ill-effects of “Drug Abuse and Cybercrime”
today, a highly informative and engaging session was held at the Govt. Higher Secondary School, Jakhbar by District Police Kathua under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua Sh. Anayat Ali Chowdhary IPS.

The session was chaired by DySP Hqrs. Kathua Sh. Manjeet Singh accompanied by Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Jakhbar Sh. Davinder Pal Singh. There was a gathering of more than hundred people which included students,staff members and police officials etc. who also actively participated in the interactive session. During the session chairing officers gave an elaborate view about the menace of drugs, its sources, causes, consequences and role of every member of society.While speaking at the event, the chairing officers said that issue of drugs abuse is a challenge before the country and advised the teachers/ guardians to pay keen attention towards the behaviour of their children & not to put any psychological pressure upon them which could attract them towards drug menace. This interactive session conducted by J&K Police is to spread awareness about drug abuse & addiction as today 31st May also marks “World No Tobacco Day” and this Year’s Theme: “Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference” underscores the critical need to safeguard young people from manipulative tactics of tobacco industry.
Furthermore, the participants gained insights into the “Realm of cybercrime”
understanding the risks associated with online activities, social media usage, and sharing personal information.The session aimed to empower students with knowledge and insights to make informed decisions and protect themselves in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape. The chairing officers shared their valuable expertise as well as experiences and also highlighted the importance of practising safe online behavior and maintaining privacy in the digital era. Moreover participants were also directed to follow/obey traffic/Road Safety Rules like Stop signs, Red Lights, Wear Seat Belts/helmets, maintain speed limit, don’t drink & drive and don’t drive without having a driving license.

District Police Kathua intends to continue conducting such sessions in the future to address other critical issues faced the youth.
